Adopt a Beagle (short coat)

Beagle (short coat) Dog

Rosie the Dog needs a home

Rosie joined our rescue on Saturday, February 3rd coming to us from a shelter in Kentucky.  We are not sure of her story.  We were told that she in Henry came into the shelter together, but do not know if they came in as strays or owner surrenders.

Rosie was seen by the vet and is believed to be around 18 months old and she is definitely is a beagle; could possibly be purebred.  She weighed 27 pounds and is pretty fit!

We believe Rosie was most likely an outdoor only dog.  Her foster mom is working with her on the housetraining.  She is very well behaved in the house and rather quiet for a beagle :-).  Rosie is low key and mostly just likes to chill (like a typical beagle), but she has her moments where she enjoys rough housing with Nugget (and, she can play hard!).

Rosie is still adjusting to her new surroundings and just seems cautious with new experiences, whether meeting the house dogs, the TV being on (which, she did bark at for awhile), and the sounds in a house (i.e. washing machine, vaccuum cleaner, etc).  We believe after a couple weeks, she will start relaxing and, we can already tell she loves being inside :-)!  Rosie loves people!  She is very much a people person and when at the vets, she was not afraid to go visit everyone there.  We can tell she wants to please you and is very remorseful if she needs to be corrected.

Rosie has done fine with the house dogs as well as the foster pup, Nugget.  She has been on edge at first when meeting any of them.  She and Nugget have become buds, but when she has had enough, she lets him know.  We think Rosie would be fine as an only dog or with another dog(s) that would not be in her face all the time.  We believe Rosie would be fine with a family with older children, but not young ones.  She does not like a lot of sound and commotion.

Rosie is current on her vaccinations and is being spayed on February, 26th.  She will be available for adoption starting the weekend of March 3rd.  Her adoption fee is $300.

If you are interested in this sweet girl, please submit an application on our website at www.worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions regarding Rosie, please send an email to her foster mom, Jessie at [email protected].

Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!
